Tamar Paltin, Director of Training
Tamar Paltin attended Arcadia University and majored in Psychobiology with a concentration in pre-veterinary studies and animal behavior. While at Arcadia, Tamar earned an internship at the prestigious Zoological Society of London and began working with captive wild animals. Afterwards she continued to work in the zoological field at Elmwood Park Zoo and completed an observational report at the Philadelphia Zoo. Tamar fostered over 100 dogs, many of which had behavioral issues and required modification and training. Once she graduated, Tamar ventured into the private sector and began working with dogs professionally at Biscuits and Bath in New York City, where she was able to work with dogs from all walks of life–from rescue dogs to celebrities’ dogs. After a couple of years, Tamar moved back to Pennsylvania and worked as a Behavior Specialist for a local veterinary practice and assisted as a veterinary technician. She was the Head Trainer for Perfect Pooch in King of Prussia when she learned about New Leash on Life and decided to join our team as our Director of Training. A firm believer in continuing education, Tamar continues to attend seminars and workshops regularly and has earned her CPDT-KA, AKC CGC Evaluator certificate, and is a member of the APDT. Tamar currently resides in the suburbs of Philadelphia with her Bullmastiff, lab mix, and two cats. She also competes with her bullmastiff in AKC Obedience, AKC Rally, and participates in therapy visits with Therapy Dogs International.
